CBD Questions

CBD is short for Cannabidiol. CBD is a cannabinoid (1 in 113+) derived from the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring substance that can be ingested or applied on the skin. All CBD is derived from the Hemp plant.

Our bodies have a system which is comprised of receptors that interact with CBD. It is called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). We have two receptors known as CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are concentrated in the brain and central nervous system. These are key parts of the body that maintain core functions such as motor activity, pain perception, stress response and memory.

CB2 receptors are widely distributed throughout the peripheral organs in the body, serving as core components in the immune system, muscular system and cardiovascular system.

When CBD enters the body, it bonds with CB1 or CB2 receptors and can improve the efficiency and maintenance of your body’s natural systems

No, CBD doesn’t cause an excessive release of dopamine to create addiction.

It’s impossible to completely remove all THC from CBD oil. There will be trace amounts in all CBD products.

At The Strange Apothecary, we use CBD oil that has been distilled to bring the THC levels below 0.2%. It doesn’t end there though; our CBD oil is then distilled again to make sure we have truly brought the levels to an extremely low amount. We’ve got your back

CBD oil is legal within the UK provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved. These strains contain very little to no THC. There are strict restrictions in place with regard to CBD oil’s THC content. For CBD oil to be legal in the UK, it must contain less than 0.2 % THC, and the THC must not be easily separated from it. Our CBD oil is double distilled to ensure that 0.2% to all THC is removed from the cannabinoid.

Unlike the most well-known cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD will not make you high. Our products are within the legal limit of 0 – 0.2% THC.

The right dosage of mushroom extracts or supplements can vary widely depending on which form of mushroom or type. It is important to check the label of the specific product for the recommended dosage.

This is why at The Strange Apothecary we only use the best suppliers with a wealth of expertise to ensure that our products are sourced with  ingredients of the very highest grade.
